Me Made May ~ Week 4

Week four, sigh. I must admit I'm getting a little burned out.  I want to try to wear things that I've made but without repeats.  I'm reaching the end of me made's here!

This time of the year always gets to be draining.  It is the last few weeks of school for the kids and we are all ready to just be done and enjoy some relaxing summer days.  My husband's job has kept him really busy with overtime and it is sure to continue most of the summer.  So I'm a bit hum-drum these days.  Oh, and top that all off with shorts fitting issues.

So on to this week:

Sunday, May 18th; 73°F
Fashionable Gardening ;-)
Fuzzy Pants: Old Navy

Tuesday, May 20th; 80°F
Top: Old Navy

Tuesday Night, May 20th; hot!

Wednesday Night, May 21st, I wore this Kwik Sew 3342 Tank
I realized that I do not like the elastic around the arms and neckline - it makes me itch.
i have tossed this tank to the re-purpose bin. I think I might try the tank again with fold over elastic or just knit binding in the future.

Onward I trudge to the last week of Me Made May.  How are you holding up?

  1. Your skirt is beautiful! I'm ready for the end of Me Made May too! I don't mind wearing my me-mades everyday but the picture taking everyday is getting to be too much. And I'm trying not to repeat anything but I won't be able to keep that up for much longer. Good luck with the final week!

I have never done it, I just don't think I would ever hold up for a month of taking photos..ha

  3. Those pajamas are absolutely adorable! Love. I've never heard of Ottobre patterns before your blog, but those PJs are super cute! Too bad they're from a magazine and not available generally! I'd definitely make some up!

  4. Lovely pjs! I haven't committed to wearing me-mades everyday - 5 out of 7 seemed reasonable for what I have and that's working out OK. A lot of repeats but in the coming months I'm hoping to get more sewing done as my circumstances are changing. Next May should be a bit more interesting, outfit wise, for me!

    1. Thanks Philippa :) 5/7 seems like a challenge ;-) I committed to 3/7 and it's been rough! I hope next may is better for me too!

  5. Those PJs of yours looks so lovely :)
You've done very well in the MMM challenge! I know I would never be able to do it, I have A LOT of sewing to do before I attempt anything like this. Well done ;)

  6. You are almost done with Me Made May - so keep going! I have not participated this year, but hopefully will have my first Me Made May next year :) As for the shorts, you also have to keep going. I can imagine how difficult it is to fit shorts, but if you have perfected the fit, you will have a lovely pair of shorts and a great pattern to use again and again. (I have to admit that I tend to shy away from making garments often from patterns that I had difficulties fitting)

    1. Thanks Cindy, I do love those pjs. For the shorts I've been trying McCall's 5391 and Simplicity 3880 but I keep getting tons of extra width and fabric under my rear. I think I might just move on to trying a burda pair

    1. Thanks Joy! I do feel more put together when I wear it (than most days of a tee and jeans). It has lovely swish
