I thought I would share my upcoming plans for my Spring SWAP

I hope to make everything on the list. I have lots of bottoms planned - I really need more in my wardrobe.

 I’ve also included fabric choices for some of the makes.

2017 Winter/Spring Sewing Plans

Recently I joined a Facebook group to motivate me to sew more with a plan.  They do sew-a-longs quarterly (this sewing group has disbanded now in 2024).  So I had to come up with a sewing plan for January to April.  I like the 4 month time frame because it doesn’t rush me.  Here is what I came up with for winter/spring 2017:

This is the look I was going for.  Per my measurements I should go with a  “V” at the waist to an “AA” elsewhere which I did. My fabric was the right stretch, too.  I could barely put these suckers on. 2015 Fall Sewing Plans

Ah, Fall is here.  It sure doesn’t feel like it this week with temps in the 90s but it will come soon enough.  Fall is my favorite time of the year.  I love the crisp air, the changing colors, and Halloween.  Here are some of the things I hope to sew for myself this fall.

2015 Summer Sewing Plans

Every year I make a plan and I end up straying from the plan.  It is very easy for me to get distracted and I tend to sew spur of the moment with patterns.  Nonetheless, here is what I’d like to sew this summer. (With a few carry overs from last year)

Tops: New Look 6470 – Brazil ITY Print Let’s do this finally.  I’ve had the fabric since May 2014 and finally worked out the pattern. 

1. made a muslin July 8, 2014 in purple
2. and then completed another test top July 19, 2014 in blue floral.
3. I loved them, so, June 25, 2015 I tried view D in a gray burnout fabric. 
4. Completed July 27, 2015 I made this jewel tone one.
5. AND THEN July 29, 2015 I made view D in a red cotton lycra! 
6. June 30, 2015 I made view B yet again in a solid black ITY.   

So I've sewn this tank pattern six times now..... I think its a winner pattern! TNT!  I need to try the other views and the skirt sometime.  Vintage Simplicity 4813 – blue gingham stretch woven another thing on my list for some time. Jalie 2804 – crossover tank – maybe this cool cotton/lycra I have McCall's 6796 short sleeves version – maybe this Gray striped sweater knit Dresses: Simplicity 1801 in a tank dress, knee length – lobster lawn made sept 2015 here McCall's 6559 – ity tank maxi dress – chevron ITY McCall's 6957 – View A and C (tank and s/s) Fabric: not sure yet, I’d like to make the tank dress in an ITY, maybe the purple? (this pattern was a FAIL).  I blogged about it there in 2020, but in 2022 I finished sewing the dress (armbands, neckband, hem) and now that I’ve gained weight I LOVE the dress! I wear it all the time!!  I would SIZE down at least 2 sizes from suggested size if I were to make it again. Shorts: Simplicity 7196 – I’ve been working on this muslin forever! – Navy Twill I am still working on these. there have been 2 or 3 muslins..... Sewaholic Thurlow – I’m ready to tackle this one again – View B shorts. Fabric: an amazing Dark Brown Herringbone Flannel Sewn: 1. Jun 2014 Muslin, 2. Jul 2014 brown twill, 3. Aug 2014 fun green twill Misc: McCall’s 6696 – Slip - Champagne Beige Charmeuse Burda 12/2008 Pajama set – Striped floral Charmeuse

So there is what I’d like to get sewn in the next 2 months.  I’m sure there will be other patterns thrown into the mix as well but I hope to stick to this for once, lol.
