Another road trip?

Yes it is true, we are heading out in the morning for yet another road trip.  I guess the one to Florida in May wasn't enough! Actually our really good friends are getting married and my husband is the best man so we had better show up!  This time we rented a car so no vehicle break-downs will slow us down.

We are going to be in Oklahoma for about a week.

When we return I hope to get going on my Beignet Skirt by Colette Patterns. I'm super excited to give it a go.  I'll let you know when I get it finished.

Until then,
Happy Sewing!

Back from Vacation!!

Hello, Hello!

We are back from vacation in sunny Florida!

The good: our trip was great. There was lots of sun and fun.  The kids loved Universal and Disney.  It was cool to see the countryside on our drive down.  The mountain was amazing!

The bad: the truck broke when we tried to head home, ended up having to rent a uhaul and trailer to bring it home because they told us it was the engine.  We got home on time but $1400 over budget due to this - plus, my mechanic here says its only the spark plugs.... which we told the FL mechanics but they said no way.  UGH!  We also hit the bad storms in IL and WI on Sunday night.  We saw a tornado trying to form right next to us near Decatur!!!!  Scariest thing in my life.

Anyway, we are glad to be home and still glad we took the trip.  We all enjoyed each other.  Here are some pics of our great time!

Now I'm chomping at the bit to get back into my sewing room.

Hope you all had a great week!

Buttercup bag and a day at the fair!

Today I sold the last buttercup bag I had in my etsy shop! YAY!  I was thrilled but then I realized I really, really need to be making stuff for the shop.  It's so hard when either I or my daughter wants to keep everything that I make!

I finished this beautiful navy floral buttercup bag just now and remembered that I really love sewing them up!

My baby also had a dance recital today so we went out for that.  The carnival was a blast!
Me and my baby girl right before the recital, Miss K was so nervous.

My baby doing her dance number

This is Mr. T on the purple and Miss K on the pink!  Love the faces :-)  (Mr. Sunny is at the top of the pink one - he took Miss K up)

The green arrow on the top right shows Mr. Sunny's head, Mr. T is with him.  They were both sorta sick after this ride. LOL

I hope you all had a great Saturday

Time out for a vacation!

Just returned from a great mini-vacation with the family.  It was nice to take some time away and enjoy each other with no technology in the way.  Sometimes life gets too routine as well.
My husband took our son, Mr. T to his first Brewers game!  He loved it. Meanwhile I took our daughter, Miss K to her first build-a-bear workshop.  She picked up a rainbow rabbit she calls "martha".

That was Sunday.  On Monday we all headed to the Milwaukee County Zoo and even in the terrible heat, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

Alas, we have returned home, completely across the other side of the state.  It was a nice break.  School is starting soon and I'm looking forward to it..... when the kids are gone all day I am more productive with my sewing.  I like to spend time with them when they are home and not be in the sewing room!
I hope you all are enjoying your summer.

Working on this week...

Things I'm working on this week:
1. finish some things to put in the Etsy shop (it is severely neglected).
2. Take a pic of my new skirt I finished for SkirtWeek @ Crafterhours
3. Get Miss K to wear her new owl skirt and shirt to take pics of. . .  - she is so stubborn
4. finish up the owl plushie and tutorial (almost there!).
5. Start Miss K's Oliver + S Ice Cream Dress
6. Work on a Tank top pattern for me!

I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial weekend.  Camping was fun but rainy here in Wisconsin.  Sunday was H - O - T and muggy.  Spending time with the family was fun though!
